Emma Mae West Cathey Mills, 93, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Odyssey Healthcare, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger.

Mrs. Mills was born Aug. 24, 1911, in Rotan to David Isaac West and Emma Mae Rushing West. She was a wonderful loving mother to Richard, Earlene, David and John Cathey and Barbara and E.D. Musgraves; her second family, the J.L. Mills children, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emma was a Red Cross Lady volunteer for 10 years at North Plains Hospital in Borger and was very active in church. She loved music.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, J.E. Cathey and J.L. Mills; a daughter, Earlene, in 1933; a son, John Cathey in 1998; her mother; her father; and eight brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Musgraves and husband, E.D., of Amarillo; two sons, Richard Cathey of Amarillo and David Cathey of Midland; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Bivins Memorial Family Council, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
