The Graveside Services for Mrs. Coleta Joyce Clower Elliott ,81,Enid will be held at 10:00 A.M. April 21st, 2012 in In the Paducah Memorial Garden Cemetery. The Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. the same day in the Paducah Community Center, Paducah, TX. arrangements and Cremation are under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born on May 1, 1930 to J.D. and Cleo Rose Clower in Paducah, Texas and died Saturday April 7, 2012 in Enid, Oklahoma . She grew up and attended high school in Paducah. On Feb. 1st, 1947, she married Bill Elliott in Paducah where they made their Home until moving to various places throughout West Texas including Amarillo and Lubbock and Jal N.M. Before moving to Ruidoso, New Mexico where they lived from 1969 to 1994. Later, they retired to Lincoln, Arkansas to be near family. They moved to Enid in 2004. She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Ruidoso where she served as the youth director and church secretary. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid gardener. She was an award winning scenic oil painter. She was a devoted wife and mother. She kept her family organized and always knew what to save. She served as the President of the Lincoln County woman's Democratic party until she was convinced by her family to join the Republican Party, she then became the President of the Lincoln County woman's Republican party. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Sr., sons, Bill Jr. and wife Dolly, of Enid, Jeff And wife Sarah of Flowermound, Texas; Daughter in law, Lana Elliott;sisters, Shirley Blankenship of Paducah TX and Teresa Waddel of Arlington, Tx.; 7 Grandchildren 9 Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Travis, Great Grandson Justin and one sister Patsy. In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials in Coletas' name made to the Alzheimer's Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
