Services for Robert J. Beasley, 83, of Brownfield were Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Meadow First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken McClung officiating. Interment followed in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. The Pallbearers were: Randall Beasley, Brandon Beardain, Blake Beardain, Cayton Meloy, Bob Sparks, and Don Bingham. Robert passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at his home in Brownfield. He was born June 26, 1924 in Merkel, TX in Jones County to John Davis and Pearl Beasley. He was a graduate of Meadow High School and attended Texas Tech University before his enlistment in the navy where he was called to service in WWII. He married Felice Lucille Carmichael, December 21, 1943 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death Aug. 13, 2006.

Robert was a farmer and rancher in Terry, Yoakum, and Cochran Counties. He was a member of Meadow First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was a lifelong member and very active and supportive of the Democratic Party. Robert was a member of the Lion's Club and a Cub Scout Master. He also served on the Brownfield Hospital Board for 12 years and was the President for four years.

Robert is survived by a son Randy Beasley and wife Julie of Meadow; a daughter Kerren Lampe and husband Richard of Lubbock; three grandsons, Randall Beasley and wife Autumn of Lubbock, Brandon Beardain and wife Rebecca of Wolfforth and Blake Beardain of Lubbock; two granddaughters Brittany Meloy and husband Cayton of Lubbock and Meghan McDougal of Lubbock; a great granddaughter Sarah Beardain of Wolfforth. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick McDougal.

The family suggests memorials to your favorite charity, the South Plains Food Bank, Meadow First Baptist Church, or the Patrick McDougal Memorial Scholarship Fund at Texas Tech in Care of Dr. Kitty Harris-Wilkes at Texas Tech University.

Services for Felice Beasley, 80, were held Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadow with Rev. Ken McClung officiating. Beasley died August 13, 2006.

She was born April 24, 1926 in Lubbock. She attended Brownfield High School and married Robert J. Beasley on Dec. 21, 1943. Beasley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadow and taught the high school Sunday school class for 32 years.

She was a member of the Meadow Women's Study Club and was involved with the Meadow Cub Scouts.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Beasley of Brownfield; a son, Randy Beasley and wife, Julie of Meadow; a daughter, Kerren McDougal of Richmond, Va.; a grandson, Randall Beasley and wife Autumn of Lubbock; grandson, Brandon Beardain and wife Rebecca of Wolfforth; three grandchildren, Brittany Meloy and husband, Cayton of Lubbock, Meghan McDougal of Lubbock and Blake Beardain of Lubbock; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Beardain of Wolfforth; and one brother, Leonard Carmichael of Abilene.

Pallbearers were Randall Beasley, Brandon Beardain, Blake Beardain, Cayton Meloy, Bob Sparks, and Don Bingham.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Click of Raton, N.M. and a grandson, Patrick McDougal of Lubbock.
