*Obituary
A Borger woman died Monday night following a pickup and pedestrian accident at 9:49 p.m. on State Highway 136, 1.7 miles north of Borger in a 65 mph highway zone, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Nancy Darlene Mitchell Cribbs, 37, was transported to Golden Plains Community Hospital by Rural Metro Ambulance Service. She was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m. by Dr. Nancy Gonzales, according to a DPS report.
According to the DPS, a 1985 Dodge pickup driven by Kyle Brandon Plagge, Borger, was southbound on State Highway 136 when the truck struck Cribbs, who was walking southbound in the outside lane of traffic.
Cribbs was wearing dark clothing, and the driver of the pickup was unable to see her, according to the DPS report.
Funeral services for Cribbs are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Cribbs was born in Denison, and had been a lifetime resident of Borger. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her father, Jesse Elmer "Buck" Mitchell of Borger; her mother, Mary Lou Mitchell of Borger; two sons, Brandon Cribbs and Tarrol Cribbs, both of Phoeniz [sic], Ariz.; three daughters, Alisha Cribbs of Phoeniz [sic], Ariz.; Misty Dawn Mitchell and Jennifer Mitchell, both of Borger; five brothers, Bobby Mitchell, David Mitchell, Roger Mitchell, and Bruce Mitchell, all of Borger; and Billy Mitchell of Stinnett; two sisters, Brenda Wagner and Cheryl Pierce, both of Borger; and a grandchild.
