Services for Wayne Ewing, 68, a former Phillips resident who died Thursday in St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, were held Saturday in First Baptist Church of Phillips.

The Rev. Jack Green, pastor of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Dallas, officiated. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo.

Mrs. [sic] Ewing was born at Olney and had lived in Phillips for many years before moving to Plano in 1975. He was a retired Phillips Petroleum Co. employee. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Ewing lived in Plao [sic] for the past 2 1/2 years with his daughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Beth Smallwood of Austin and Mrs. Mary Anne Seale of Plano; three brothers, Albert of Stephenville, Earl of Abilene and J.B. of Muskogee, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Shankle of Lockney and Mrs. Willie Mae Lawson of Breckenridge; and three grandsons.

Pallbearers were Bill Lee, J.R. Wolf, Dr. R.E. Darnell, V.G. Platts, L.H. Bailey, H.W. Powers, Gary Cartwright and John Smallwood.

BORGER - Funeral services for Mrs. Wayne (Oma Mae) Ewing, 63, of Phillips, a longtime teacher in the Borger school system, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Phillips.

The Rev. J.W. Reynolds, pastor of the Missionary Baptist Church of Clarendon, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Ewing died about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at her home in Phillips.

She was born in Comanche and had lived in the Borger area for the past 28 years. At the time of her death, she was a third-grade teacher at Bunavista Elementary School.

She had taught in the Borger school system for the past 28 years after teaching in Conley, Callahan, Throckmorton, and Comanche Counties. She moved to Borger from Clarendon.

She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon, the Borger Classroom Teachers Association and the Texas State Teachers Association.

Miss Oma Mae Davis married Wayne Ewing on July 9, 1936, in Albany.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Jim Smallwood of Austin and Mrs. Don Seals of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. C.C. LaGrone, Mrs. D.T. Smallwood, Mrs. Bessie Lane, all of Clarendon, and Mrs. Horace Dunlap of Comanche; and two grandchildren.
