Memorial services for Maudie Lou Brixey, a Crosbyton resident 41 years, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 10) in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, is to officiate.
Interment will be made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brixey was 77. She was claimed by death about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
The former Maudie Lou Jordan was born March 23, 1905, in Hill County, Tex. She was married to Leonard Brixey on Feb. 22, 1922, in Henrietta, and the family came to Crosbyton in 1942.
A housewife, Mrs. Brixey was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one son, Jack Brixey of Crosbyton; one daughter, Tessibel Flournoy of Crosbyton; two brothers, J.W. Jordan of Brush, Colo., and Buster Jordon of Dimmitt; six sisters, Bertha Reeves, Tina Mae Jordan and Orah Irvin, all of Henrietta, Josephine Leuckie of Hobbs, NM, Pauline Pryor and Myrtle Wendell, both of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Another daughter, Beatrice Karr, preceded her mother in death Dec. 27, 1975.
