Funeral services for Lillie Brown, 90, of Ralls, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the First United Methodist Church in Ralls. Officiating was the Reverend David Ray, Pastor. Interment was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Adams Funeral Home.
Miss Brown died shortly after noon Saturday at Crosbyton Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1898, in Fisher County, Texas. She came to Crosby County with her parents in 1901. They moved from the Emma Community to Ralls in 1911. In 1922 she was appointed Postmistress at Ralls, and served until July 1934. She studied fashion designing in New York in 1935, and then worked in Los Angeles and New Orleans until 1942. She served with the Women´s Army Auxiliary Corps from 1942 until 1945, during World War II. After World War II, she studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and operated her own business there for several years. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1952, and to Ralls, in 1985.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas.
Her survivors include: one sister, Ruby Heard of Ralls and several nieces and nephews.
