BORGER - Mark Eugene Grimes, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in Pampa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Keeler Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Anderson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Devotion at Highland Park Cemetery by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. Grimes was born in Kingfisher, Okla. He was a cattle ranch foreman in Kansas during World War II. In 1950 he moved to Borger and went to work for Phillips Petroleum, Plains Plant. He founded his own construction company in Borger.
He married Ellena Farris Gullett in 1939 at Pawhuska, Okla. They were part of the original founding families of Bunavista Baptist Church and members of the Keeler Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Melvin Eugene Grimes of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Harold Joe Grimes of Borger; a brother, Laddie J. Grimes of Norman, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.

Ellena Farris Gullett Grimes, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in Borger Health Care Center.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Keeler Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Anderson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in "The Garden of Devotion" at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Grimes was born in Moore, Okla., on Dec. 11, 1917, and was daughter of James "Jim" Gullett and Belle Forrest Sumpter Gullett. She graduated from High School in Pawhuska, Okla., and studied business and shorthand. She married Mark Grimes on Dec. 14, 1939. She was a longtime resident of Borger. She was an early member of the Bunavista Baptist Church and was a long time member of the Keeler Baptist Church where she often taught Sunday School Classes.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Delva Gullett Ogan, Carol James Gullett and Harold Vane Gullett.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Eugene Grimes of Linda, Calif., Harold Joe Grimes of Borger; a brother, Lloyd Gullett of Wynona, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers were George Wright, Alvin Paulsell, Bob Grove, Lloyd Gooch, B.J. Scott and Bob Estes.
