BORGER - Funeral services for T.W. (Blondy) Hawks, 58, of 407 Baylor, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Tobin, vicar of St. Peters Episcopal Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Ed Brown Funeral Director.

Mr. Hawks owned and operated the Bi-Rite Drug Store here. He died late Sunday night in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

He came to Borger in 1926 and worked at the old Nyal Drug Store in the 600 block of Main. He had been a registered pharmacist since 1930, with experience in Wyoming, Colorado and Texas.

He managed a chain of several Cretney Drug Stores in the Panhandle before going into business for himself in 1949.

Mr. Hawks served three years as a medic during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
