Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hill of 308 W. Roosevelt have received word from United States army authorities at Camp Bowie, Brownwood, Texas, of the finding of their son's, Pvt. Raymond B. Hill, body in the Rio Grande river late last night "presumably" drowned. The telegram read: "Regret to advise you that the body of your son, Pvt. Raymond B. Hill, was recovered late today (June 3) from the Rio Grande river. Death presumably caused by drowning."

The body is being returned to Borger and is escorted by John F. Burton Lyons, major, cavalry, commandant 1st squadron, 124th cavalry.

Young Hill, age 21, had been in the army approximately one and one-half years. He was formerly employed by Gordon Burch here and he was a special guest at the recent American Legion convention held here.

He is survived by his mother and father; five brothers, George, Martin, Frank, Richard and Eugene; and five sisters, Bertha, Virginia, Anna, Grace and Katherine.

Funeral arrangements are pending. Hill will be buried with full military colors, however.

The body will lie in state at Powell Funeral Home.

A military funeral this afternoon will be held for Pvt. Raymond B. Hill at 3 o'clock in the American Legion Hall, with the Rev. Wallace Jones, Christian pastor, officiating.

The body of Pvt. Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hill, 308 West Roosevelt, was found in the Rio Grande river late Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old soldier was station at Fort Brown, near Brownsville.

The casket will not be opened at the funeral, nor before the last rites, according to the Powell Funeral Home, who is in charge of local arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Wilson, Jack Katsh, Abe Evin, Ben McGraw, Quince Nelson, and H.M. McIntosh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Thomas, W.D. Keller, Carl Floyd, Walter Bethel, Wayne Spraggins, Robert Harris, Tommy Spiers, Earl Franklin, Jack Florer, Donald Witcher, Russel Hawkins, and Virgil Weinberg.

In charge of flower arrangements are Mesdames H.H. Maxwell, H.H. Stull, Lee Hutson, Pat Kelly, M.A. Wilson and Charlie Williamson.

The Texas Defense Guard will have charge of the firing squad.

Hill is survived by his parents; six brothers, Alfred, George, Martin, Frank, Richard and Eugene; and five sisters, Bertha, Virginia, Anna, Grace and Katherine.
