BORGER - Funeral arrangements are pending with Simpson Funeral Home for Jewel S. Owens, 66, an employee of the National Park Service at Lake Meredith.
Mr. Owens died Monday afternoon at North Plains Hospital.
He was born in Nacogdoches and had lived in Borger for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Donna B.; three sons, Marvin of Clovis, N.M., Kenneth of Kermit and Neil of 5017 Bonham in Amarillo; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Walton of Borger and Mrs. Beverly Anderson of El Paso; two brothers, Julian of Vinson, Okla., and J.C. of Midwest City, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Upchurch of Midwest City, Mrs. Lulabelle Morris of 2900 Sanborn in Amarillo, Mrs. Robert Fuller of 1413 Harrison in Amarillo and Mrs. Nova Riley of Lampasas; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dona "Owens" Long, 83, of Borger, died at 3 a.m. Friday at Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gardner Street Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A retired vegetable and pastry cook for the Borger Independent School cafeterias, she was a native of Paris, Texas, and a Borger resident since 1952, moving here from Wellington.
She was a member of the Gardner Street Church of Christ and the Opportunity Center in Borger. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jewell Owens in 1968; her second husband, Vernie Long in 1971; and a son, Marvin Owens in 1992.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Owens of Childress and Neil Owens of Amarillo; two daughters, Jean Walton of Borger, and Beverly Anderson of Kingsville; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
