Rosary for Diana Chavez, 44, of Idalou will be at 7 PM, Friday, July 10, 2009 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the same church with Rev. Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Diana passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Covenant Lakeside. She was born May 13, 1965 in Lubbock to Patricio and Rene (Lopez) Alcala. On December 27, 1990 she and Fidencio Chavez began their life together. Diana moved to Idalou in 2002 and spent the last four years working in the school cafeteria. She is preceded in death by her father Patricio Alcala who passed away on October 18, 2003.

Survivors include; her husband Fidencio, two sons; Christopher and Caesar, three daughters; Emily Rene Chavez, Eliza Chavez and Elida Chavez all of Idalou, her mother; Rene Alcala of Ralls, eight brothers; J. C. Lopez of Corpus Christi, Patricio Alcala, Jr. of Ralls, Adolfo Alcala of Michigan, Robert Alcala of Alabama, Armando Alcala of Lorenzo, Hector Alcala of Idalou, Oscar Alcala of Lorenzo, Felix Alcala of Ralls and two sisters; Mary Aguilar of Ralls and Angie Waldon of Alabama.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Oscar Alcala, Jr., Mario Reyna, Andrew Chavez, Felix Alcala, Jr., Josh Alcala, Juan Carlos Chavez, Benito Gonzales, Cory Alcala and Armando Alcala, Jr.
