Funeral services for J.W. McBride, 74, 517 West Coolidge, who died around 4 p.m. Sunday at his home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Christian Church. Rev. Rawlins Cherryholmes will officiate.
McBride had been a resident of Borger since 1930 and was an employee of Southwestern Public Service Company before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lora McBride, of the home; a son, Virgil McBride, Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Tayrien, Odessa, Mrs. Don Alexander, both of Borger and one brother, Thomas McBride, Tulsa.
Other survivors are four sisters, Mrs. George Perlsey, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. L.R. Garrett, Tulsa, Mrs. Sylvester Dodson, Tulsa and Mrs. Ola Yost, of Indiana.
Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lora McBride, 78, long-time Borger resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Clyde Nichols, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. McBride died Saturday in Odessa in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bus Tayrien, with whom she had been making her home.
Other survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Don Alexander of Borger; a son, Virgil McBride of Pasadena; and 10 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Simpson's Funeral Home.
