SKELLYTOWN - Jess W. McCarty, 67, 109 E. First St., died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Coronado Community Hospital in Pampa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors.
A retired employee of Phillips Petroleum Company Copolymer Plant, Mr. McCarty was an Abilene native and an area resident for 38 years.
A member of the Church of Christ, he is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons James Lankford of Dallas and Floyd Lankford of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Boots Story of Mt. Peters, Calif., and Mrs. Stella Wicklander of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Vann of Borger; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodger McCarty, in 1974 and a daughter, Jo Lindsey, in 1980.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Brown, Wesley Brown, Miles Pearston, Sonny Clayton, Vernice Porter, and Bobby Hudson.

Marie Lankford McCarty, 66, Skellytown, died Thursday, May 23, 1991 in Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Services are pending with Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.
A native of Bridgeport, she had been a Borger area resident for 46 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess McCarty in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, James Lankford of Waxahachie; and Floyd Lankford of Houston; two daughters, Boots Story of Mount Peters, Calif.; and Stella Wicklander of San Jose, Calif.; four brothers, Melvin Brown, Wesley Brown, Dee Brown, and Fred Brown, all of Dalhart.
