Ernie Musgraves, 82, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 14, 2009.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger with Roger Hubbard officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Musgraves was born March 28, 1927, in Oklahoma. He had been an electrician at Phillips Petroleum Refinery for 40 years.

Mr. Musgraves was a veteran in the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of Bunavista Baptist Church in Borger.

He married Barbara June Cathey in 1956 in Stinnett. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2009.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Musgraves, and a grandson, Chad Musgraves.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Musgraves and wife Charlotte of Borger and Danny Musgraves and wife Karla of Amarillo; a brother, Bobby Musgraves of Duncan, Okla.; two sisters, Sue Rochelle of Duncan and Oweeta Hall of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Jeremy, Lynse, Kara, Trish, Nicki, Amy and Sara; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001.

Barbara June Musgraves, 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger with Jeremy Musgraves officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Musgraves was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Skellytown to Jesse "J.E." and Emma Cathey. She married Ernest Musgraves in 1956 in Stinnett.

She was a member of the BuenaVista Baptist Church in Borger and was owner and operator of a beauty salon.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Musgraves; three brothers, Johnny, David and Richard; a sister, Earlene; and a grandson, Chad Musgraves.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Musgraves; two sons, Carl Musgraves and wife Charolette of Borger, and Danny Musgraves and wife Karla of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Jeremy, Lynse, Kara, Trish, Nikki, Amy and Sara; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
