FOLLETT - Alviana Kliewer, 93, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Booker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Follett with Clay Wells, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla.

Alviana Kliewer was born Dec. 5, 1912, in Shattuck, Okla. She was the oldest of seven children to Mary Schoenhals and George Steinert. She was raised south of Shattuck until 1929, when the family moved to a farm west and north of Follett.

Frank Kliewer came into her life as she graduated from Follett High School in 1932. They were married Nov. 2, 1932, in the home of Frank's parents. Presiding was the Rev. George Eichler. The couple lived with his parents for almost a year while a small two-room house was built near his parents' home. Four years later they bought a farm three miles north of Follett where they lived together until Frank passed away in 1993.

Alviana has been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Follett, teaching Sunday school and helping with vacation Bible school for many years.

The Home Demonstration Club of Lipscomb County received her energy and support, as she was a charter member. The senior citizens group of Follett called Friends and Neighbors was a great source of enjoyment to both Alviana and Frank.

Alviana's strong faith in God was apparent whether she was praying for a lost need, a child in the hospital or making it through the Dust Bowl years. She kept looking for the silver lining in every cloud. Her pastimes have included embroidering and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Ruby Gadberry and Gertrude Dale and an infant sister, Margerite Steinert.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Worrell and husband Gene of Amarillo; a son, Ron Kliewer of Amarillo; two sisters, Martha Herber and LaVeta Buchner, both of Follett; five grandchildren, Tammy Richardson, Troy Worrell and wife Shelley, Trent Worrell and wife Easter, James Kliewer and wife Becca and Kenna Howard and husband Devin; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Richardson, Keelan Worrell, Alex McKenzie Worrell, Brennen Worrell, Connor Worrell, Cody Howard, Kori Brooke Howard, Jolie Kliewer, Tori Kliewer, Curtis Sharpe, Chase Sharpe an Corbin Sharpe.

The family suggests memorials be to the Follett Educational Corp. Scholarship Fund in care of the Follett National Bank, 241 S. Main St., Follett, TX 79034, or to a favorite charity.
