Cordell Carroll Nixon, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Graveside service will be held 3 pm Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Cordell was born April 29, 1939 in Borger to Alta Mae (Hodges) and Sidney Nixon. He enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and looked forward to drinking coffee on the front porch in the mornings. Cordell loved his dogs, but nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Maleta Jean Nixon; son, Johnny Nixon; and sister, Rosie Jones.
Survivors include his sons, Everett Nixon and wife Kristi of Borger, Winston Allen and wife Christie of Panhandle, Cordell Nixon, Jr. and wife Jessie of Borger; daughter, Shelly Vanderburg of Quitman, Texas; sister, Geneva Terry of Amarillo; ten grandchildren; thirteen grandchildren and one due to arrive in April; four dogs, Buster, Tater, Sugar, Mija; three grand dogs; and three great grand dogs.

BORGER - Maleta "Jeanie" Nixon, 68, died Saturday Feb. 16, 2008.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery with Don White, pastor of New Beginnings Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
She was a homemaker and Borger resident for 37 years.
First married Clifton Boyd Allen on 1 Nov 1958 in Muleshoe, Texas. They had 3 children, one died at birth. They divorced 18 Aug 1969 in Bailey County, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Cordell; three sons, Winston Allen of Panhandle, Everett Nixon and Cordell Nixon Jr., both of Borger; two daughters, Shelly Vanderburg of Pampa and Julie Nixon of Borger; a brother, Ronnie Cawthron of Winnsboro; a sister, Wanda Raile of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
