*Obituary Alton
Funeral services for Alton B. Oden, 76, Borger, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Smith, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Eastlawn Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Oden died Monday, Sept. 30, 196, at High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.
Mr. Oden was born in Petersburg, Texas, and had been a Borger resident since 1946. He was a supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Avis Marie Box on June 2, 1946 in Borger. He was a member of OddFellows. He was preceded in death by a brother, Milburn Oden in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Avis Marie Oden, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Steadman, of Borger, and Sharon Mooreman, of Elkton, Md.; a brother, Preston Oden, of Lubbock; two sisters, Rosalie Floyd, of Smyer, and June Story, of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Michael Steadman, Douglas Steadman, Bobby Bridges, Jerald McDonald, Jack Williamson and James O'Neal.

Marie Oden, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Borger.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 23, at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Clayton E. Moorman officiating. Burial was in "Eastlawn Garden" under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Oden was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in Hollis, Okla. She had been a Borger resident since the early 1940s. She married Alton B. Oden on June 2, 1946, in Borger. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker and member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ethel Box; a sister, Elaine Oden; and a brother, Loyce Box.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Clayton Moorman of Elkton, Md., and Kathy and Frank Steadman of Borger; two brothers, Kenneth Duane Box and Loel Denzil Box, both of Pampa; five grandchildren, Michael Steadman, Douglas Steadman, Travis and Laurie Moorman, Melanie Moorman and Kelley Moorman; and one great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumpter, Pampa, TX 79065.
