Funeral services for Alton B. Oden, 76, Borger, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Smith, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Eastlawn Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Oden died Monday, Sept. 30, 196, at High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Mr. Oden was born in Petersburg, Texas, and had been a Borger resident since 1946. He was a supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Avis Marie Box on June 2, 1946 in Borger. He was a member of OddFellows. He was preceded in death by a brother, Milburn Oden in 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Avis Marie Oden, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Steadman, of Borger, and Sharon Mooreman, of Elkton, Md.; a brother, Preston Oden, of Lubbock; two sisters, Rosalie Floyd, of Smyer, and June Story, of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.

Casketbearers will be Michael Steadman, Douglas Steadman, Bobby Bridges, Jerald McDonald, Jack Williamson and James O'Neal.
