Otto Boyd Phillips, 62, a 28-year-resident of Borger, was found dead in a horse lot on West 10th Street Thursday afternoon.

Investigating officers said an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death had been ordered. Phillips was discovered lying on the ground and a small horse was in the same lot. It was theorized that his death came as a result of being kicked by the animal.

Mrs. J.F. Brown of 1016 W. 10th discovered Phillips' body when she went to feed the horse. The Brown and Phillips families are neighbors.

Phillips was born in 1903 near Madill, Okla. He was a member of Gateway Church of Christ.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Minton Mortuary.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lola Phillips, of the home, 1010 W. 10th; two sons, William Boyd and Larry Don, both of Borger; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Lou Jones, Fritch and Mrs. Earlene Miller, Moreland, Okla.; four brothers, John, Petluma, Calif., C.P., Porterville, Calif., Harold of Lefors and Walter of Stinnett; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Branstetter, Borger and Mrs. Floyd Cothran, Porterville, Calif., and ten grandchildren.

FRITCH - Mrs. Lola Phillips, 69, of 508 Pawnee, died Monday in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

A housewife, she was a native of Sentinel, Okla., and a Fritch resident for 45 years.

She was a member of the Fritch Chruch [sic] of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty Lou Jones of Fritch and Mrs. Earlene Miller of Woodward, Okla.; two sons, William Boyd Phillips of Borger and Larry Don Phillips of Fritch; three sisters, Doris Beck of Cordell, Okla., Mrs. Billie Nichols of Houston and Edna Fairless of Calif.; two brothers, Linden Neeley of Del City, Okla.; and Stanley Neeley of Ardmore, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
