Oscar Shackleford Ross was born in Texas on November 3, 1875 to Sarah Ellen Shackleford and Oscar Gates Ross.
He died on August 11, 1888 in Grimes County, Texas at the age of 12. he is buried in the same cemetery as his brother Minor Ross.
