Cecil Earl Purdy, 73, of 132 LaSalle in Fritch died Sunday in his home.
A retired farmer, he was a native of Indian Territory, Oklahoma, and a Fritch resident for 1 1/2 years. He had lived in Quitaque for 53 years.
He married the former Beatrice Tyler on November 10, 1934 in Turkey. He was preceded in death by a son, Wes Purdy in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice of the home; seven sons, Gerald Purdy, Orval Purdy, Tom Purdy, all of Fritch, Raymond Purdy of Plainview, Ray Purdy of Sunray, Cleave Purdy of Pampa, Bud Purdy of Idalou; two daughters, Barbara Anderson of Tyler, Jean Reinhardt of Kress; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Pearl) Pinkston of Abilene, Mrs. Doyle (Wandall) Vancleave of Snyder; 45 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Phil D. Clark, pastor, Faith Christian Center, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
