Funeral services for James E. Reeves, RMC-A, United States Navy, are pending with Minton Mortuary. Reeves died of natural causes in San Diego, Calif., Naval Hospital Saturday.

Born in Borger May 8, 1933, Reeves attended Borger schools, and graduated from Stinnett High School.

The 32-year-old sailor enlisted in the U.S. Navy at Albuquerque, N.M., Dec. 27, 1951. He was stationed at Norfolk, Va., aboard the U.S.S. Chukawan in 1963. Prior to that he was stationed in Ireland for four years.

He saw active duty in the Korean conflict, serving aboard the heavy cruiser, USS Helena. He was radioman First Class.

Surviving are his wife, Sophie, and son, Mike, of the home in California; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward D. Reeves, 502 Short Street; sisters, Wilma Joy Roundtree, California, Cheryl Lynn Reeves, Borger; grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Hankins of Borger.
