*Obituary L. E.
L.E. "Pappy" Rogers, 78, of Bay City, Texas, died at 6:55 p.m. Saturday in Bay City General Hospital.
A retired construction engineer at the Phillips Refinery, he was a native of Beecher City, Ill., and a Borger resident from 1930 to 1955. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Matagorda Lodge 3.
Survivors include a niece, Nancy Brawley of Borger, and a nephew, Jerry Dean of Fritch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rogers in February 1986.
Funeral services are pending with Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Home.

Helen Odell Rogers, 75, Bay City, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in her home.
A housewife, she was a native of Texas and a former Borger resident.
She is survived by her husband, L.E. Rogers; a brother, Vern Farquhar of Amarillo; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Dean of Borger; and a niece, Nancy Brawley of Borger.
Helen and L.E. Rogers were married here in Borger in 1933.
Funeral services are pending with Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Home.
