Buster C. Shields, 81, Borger, died Saturday, March 30, 1991 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Gateway Baptist Church with the Rev. J.R. Lawson and the Rev. Cecil Hindman, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Scipio, Okla., he had been a Borger resident for 41 years. He was a retired employee at Phillips salvage yard.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355 and Borger Chapter No. 811 Order of Eastern Star.

He married Modene Mitchell Oct. 15, 1930 at Hollis, Okla.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Billy Shields of Hobbs, N.M.; the Rev. Robert Shields of Waxahachie; John Shields of Anderson, Ind.; and Jimmy Shields of Amarillo; two daughters, Helen Welch of Clarendon; and JoAnn Cobb of Stinnett; two sisters, Marie Dyer and Texene Teems, both of Denison; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Harold Wayne Cobb, Tex Lynn Welch, Williams Shields, Casey Lane, Billy Ray Shields, and Joe Bob Shields.

STINNETT - Laura Modene Shields, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Shields and the Rev. Orville Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of
Borger.

Mrs. Shields was born in Patterson, Okla. She moved to Stinnett seven years ago from Borger. She retired from North Plains Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stinnett and Borger Chapter No. 811 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Cecil Shields, in 1991.

Survivors include four sons, Billy Shields of Hobbs, N.M., the Rev. Robert Shields of Waxahachie, John Shields of Santa Maria, Calif., and Jimmy Shields of Amarillo; two daughters, Jo Ann Cobb of Stinnett and
Helen Welch of Clarendon; a brother, Junior Mitchell of Booker, Okla.; a sister, Faye Harrison of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
