Services for John Wesley Slate, 49, of 716 Derr, a longtime Borger resident, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Minton Memorial Chapel.

The Rev. Carlton Thomson, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Willis, Earl Edwards, Paul Waterstraat, Jess Harris, Jim Hopkins and Byron Mitchell.

Mr. Slate died Sunday night at his home. He had lived in Borger since 1946.

Survivors include his mother, Minnie Slate, of the home; four brother, W.H., Timothy and Carl, all of the home, and Elijah of Miami, and a sister, Mrs. Bud Fisher of Hereford.

Funeral services for Willie Joe Slate, 43, of 716 Derr, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Minton Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Carlton Thomson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Slate died at 8 a.m. Saturday at North Plains Hospital.

He had lived in Borger for the past 26 years.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. W.S. Slate of Borger; five brothers, Houston, Timothy, Carl and J.W. all of Borger, and Elijah of Pampa; and one sister, Mrs. Bud Fisher of Hereford.
