Funeral services for Eris E. Stewart, 46, who died at 9:45 Sunday night, August 7, of a heart attack, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 10th, in the Phillips high school auditorium with the Rev. Henry West, pastor of the First Baptist church in Lorenzo, Texas, officiating.
Casket bearers included Les Adair, Dick Adair, L.D. Patton, Jerry Ibach, Pete Stockstill, Ray Hatley, W.F. Fisher and A.W. Sweeney.
Eris Stewart, a resident of this area for the past 22 years, was employed by Phillips Oil Company since his arrival in Borger and was a stock and treater foreman at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife of 29 Santa Fe, Phillips; a daughter, Mrs. R.A. Thompson of Bunavista; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Stewart of Phillips; two sisters, Mrs. J.L. Clark of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mrs. R.B. Grubb of Glendale, California; and a brother, J.W. Stewart of Hobbs, New Mexico.
He was a member of the Baptist church with his membership in Warner, Oklahoma.
