Funeral services for G.H. Thornton, 73, 401 N. Coble, who died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the North Plains Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson Park Church of Christ. Mr. Charles Whitmire, minister, will officiate.
Interment in Highland Park Cemetery will be directed by Simpson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Cleo Myers, W.B. Umbarger, Art Peiffer, Roy Nichols, Claude Robinson, J.R. Hughes, Vernon Litterell.
Mr. Thornton, a retired carpenter, came to Borger in 1926.
He is survived by one son, G.H. Thornton, Jr., of Gary, Ind.; two stepsons, Bonner Forrest of Fritch, Jerry Forrest of Escondido, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Burke of Phillips, Mrs. Ralph Smith of Inglewood, Calif.; one step daughter, Mrs. Laura Cleveland of Borger; one brother, Tom of Sherman and Mrs. Neva Rasmonson of California; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Thornton, 89, a Borger resident since 1926, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Park Church of Christ with Mr. Charles Whitmire, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be George Brain, Bob Cory, Charles Renick, James Litchford, Odean Smith, and Roy Nichols.
Survivors are the husband, G.H., 401 N. Coble; three sons, Bonner Forrest of Fritch, Jerry of Escondido, Calif., and G.H., Jr., of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Burke of Phillips, Mrs. Laura Cleveland of Borger and Mrs. Ralph Smith of Inglewood, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
