Ople Upchurch was born on August 22, 1917, in Texas to Belle Hazelwood Upchurch. I believe (90% sure) her father to be Elmon “Jim” Upchurch, who died in 1918 shortly before/after she was born. He is buried near her at Bedias Baptist Cemetery.
Her grandparents are Nancy and John Hazelwood. According to the 1920 Texas Census, Ople was 2 years of age. She and her mother Belle (age 25) were living with Belle's brother Oscar James Hazelwood and his family. Belle was listed as a widow.
Infant baby girl Ople Upchurch died on August 1, 1920 in Grimes County, Texas.
