*Obituary Vera
Vera Lee Waits, 90, of Fritch passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Vera was born on December 20, 1926 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Elbert N. and Ruby Pearl Young. When she was 15, she met the love of her life: Jack Delton Waits. They married October 24, 1942 in Phillips, Texas. Jack told his granddaughter Kim once that he had met Vera at "the roughest honky-tonk in Borger". Vera was quick to correct him that the first time she saw him was at church. Regardless of where they met, the two of them fell in love as youngsters and stood behind each other from that point on, raising two wonderful boys and building a happy life together.

Vera was a hard worker and a strong role model for her children. She not only kept a clean and organized home while raising her two sons, but she worked outside the home to supplement the family's income. She worked many years at Golden Plains Hospital cleaning operating rooms, at Phillips in one of the labs, and waited tables at the Borger Motel when her children were small.

Vera loved her family dearly and spent as much time as possible with them. When her husband was alive they rode motorcycles together, went dancing with friends, and enjoyed camping in Red River, NM. After his passing, she spent as much time as possible with her sons, enjoyed going out to eat, and once a year would go gambling in Vegas with her son Brad, granddaughter Kim, and Kim's husband Kyle. In her spare time, she loved to read Danielle Steel and play Canasta.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Delton Waits and wife, Phillis of Fritch and Brad Waits of Fritch; 6 grandchildren: Kimberly Middleton and husband Kyle of Blue Ridge, Texas; John Waits and wife Lana of Lubbock, Texas; Shea Shackleford of Borger; Jaime Jones and husband Marlon of Canyon; Lori Fiedling of Sulphur, Oklahoma and Robin Butler and husband Gregg of Buda, Texas; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Delton Waits (1986); twin grandchildren: Debra Renee and Donna Denise Waits; a brother Leroy Young and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, Borger. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Borger.

Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors.
