Funeral services for Emily Darlene Clare Charters were held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Edwin Brooks officiating. There was a family visitation from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Emily Darlene Clare Charters, born to John Brit Clare SR and Nina Lee Wells Clare on March 13, 1944 in Brownfield. She passed away on September 9, 2018. Darlene married Howard Bruce Charters on November 3, 1973. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John B. Clare and Nina Lee Clare; one sister, Wanda Lee Clare; one brother, John B. Clare JR; and one grandson Jon David Charters. Darlene is survived by 2 sisters, Jerry Dean Day and Nita Martin both of Lubbock; 1 brother, Gary Dane and Reta Clare of Brownfield. “The world calls them stepchildren, I call them mine.” 2 daughters, Donna and Larry Morgan of Haileyville, OK and Debra and Hugh Bramlett of Levelland; 2 sons, Douglas B. and Dee Charters of Brownfield and Dustin D. and Kelley Charters of Level-land; “more grandkids than I can count, a super amount of great grandkids, and one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and last but not least all of my precious, precious, friends that God blessed me with.”
