Archie Leroy Bruton, 86, of Killeen, passed away hursday, August 29, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Willie Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the funeral home.

Leroy was born in Hubbard, Texas, to the late Roy and Mamie Clawson Bruton. He attended school in Flat. He joined the U.S. Army 1946, serving in World War II briefly before marrying Juanita Tippit in 1947. Leroy and Juanita lived most of their married life in Killeen. They were active in square dancing in Central Texas for over 30 years. Leroy worked for P & H Radio and TV Services in Killeen for 15 years and helped bring TV to fruition. He was a civil servant at Fort Hood, Texas, retiring after 35 years. Leroy was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, boating, and horseback riding.

Leroy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gwendolyn Bruton; and a brother, Gene Bruton.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita; daughters, Charlotte Hord and husband, Joe, Cynthia White and ex-husband, Mike White, Jeannie Bruton Hamlin and husband, Dave; grandchildren, Joshua Buck, B.J. Cole and husband, T.J., Michael "Dusty" White and fiancée, Vanessa Ruiz, Kyle Hamlin; great-granddaughter, Alvah Cole; sister, Betty Haynes and husband, Zonnell "Dutch"; brother, Clarence Bruton and wife, Jo; many other relatives and numerous friends.

Juanita Bruton, 87, of Killeen passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Copperas Cove.

Juanita was born on November 14, 1928 to the late L.B. and Laura Wigham Tippit.
She graduated from Flat High School in 1946 with honors.
Juanita married Archie Leroy Bruton in 1947 after he came home from serving in WW II. They lived most of their married life in Killeen. They were active in square dancing in Central Texas for over 30 years.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and seamstress, designing matching dresses for her girls. She truly enjoyed raising her children, spending time with her family and working in her garden. Juanita also loved playing the piano and made sure her girls could play as well learning from hymn books.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Archie Bruton, two brothers, Barney Tippit and James Tippit; and an infant daughter, Gwendolyn Bruton.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Hord and husband, Joe, Cynthia White and ex-husband, Mike White, Jeannie Bruton and husband, Dave Hamlin; brother, Feno Tippit; grandchildren, Joshua Burck, B.J. Cole and husband, T.J., Michael “ Dusty” White and wife Vanessa, Kyle Hamlin and two great-grandchildren, Alvah Cole and Ethan Stone White.
