W.R. "Mike" Willerton, 65, of 1312 Potter, Borger died Sunday in his home.

A retired Electrical Supervisor at Phillips, he was a native of Beggs, Okla. and a Borger resident since December of 1946.

He was an Air Force veteran of WW II and a charter member of Faith Covenant, Boots and Calico Square Dance Club, Motivators Square Dance Club of Amarillo, Square plus Square Dance Club of Amarillo, a former long-time member of Civil Air Patrol of Borger, a graduate of Three Sands, Okla., Northern Okla. Junior College, and Coyne Electrical School of Chicago, Ill. He was involved in church, lodge and civic affairs.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine of the home; three sons, Chris Willerton of Abilene, Keith Willerton of Cleburne, Texas, and Donald Willerton of Los Alamos, N.M.; three brothers, Calvin Willerton of Tonkawa, Okla., Roy Willerton of Pampa, Kenneth Willerton of Stillwater, Okla.; five sisters, Norma Ruth Wilkins of Ada, Okla., Juanita Sledge of Graham, Texas, Phyllis Ricketts of Collinsville, Ill., Margaret Tautfest of Red Rock, Okla. and Velda Miller of Mineral Wells, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Highland Park with Rev. Ken Sheppard, Pastor, Faith Covenant Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Home.

Josephine Willerton, 91, of Los Alamos, NM (long-time Borger resident), died Friday, August 17, 2012.

Josephine Louise Hill was born June 7, 1921, in Cherryvale, KS, to Harold and Grace Hill. She met her future husband W. R. "Mike" Willerton while attending Ponca City Junior College. They married June 1, 1942, the day of her graduation from Oklahoma A&M.

While her husband served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, she worked in a lab for Continental Oil, developing airplane fuels. They moved to Borger in 1946. Her husband worked in the Phillips refinery for 37 years. He died in 1986.

The Willertons were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Borger, and then helped found the Faith Covenant Church. Jo Willerton was a gifted painter and teacher of painting, a longtime member of the Borger Creative Arts Club. She and her husband were square dancers for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Chris Willerton of Abilene TX, Keith Willerton of Borger, and Don Willerton of Los Alamos; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 20, 2012, at Faith Covenant Church in Borger, with Pastor Les Sharp officiating. She will be buried in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
