Martha Josephine Word, 81, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Borger by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell Ave.
Mrs. Word was raised in Oklahoma and attended business school in Norman. In the 1940s, she and her husband moved to Phillips then moved to Borger in the 1960s. In the 1970s, she moved to Amarillo, where she attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She moved to Albuquerque in the early 1990s.
She married James C. Word Jr.
Survivors include her son, Jim Word of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
