John Watson Barr, Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, March 6, 1988.

Graveside services were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, March at the Wheeler Cemetery. Rev. M.B. Smith officiated.

Mr. Barr was born in Waxahachie, Texas, March 18, 1894. He married Rosetta Clark on April 18, 1926 at which time he moved to Wheeler. He was a Military veteran, serving three years in the Army during World War I. He lived in Wheeler until 1980 at which time he moved to Rising Star Rest Home in Rising Star, Texas.

He was preceeded [sic] in death by his wife Rosetta on August 10, 1977 and by his daughter Lois in 1984.

Survivors include three sons; Johnie of Burleson, TX., Nathan of Panama City, Florida, and Reggie of Cross Plains, TX; and by one daughter, Margie Breakfield of Ft. Worth; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Of these survivors, those who are residents of Wheeler are: grandson Keith Matthies and great grandchildren Taryn Matthies and Clinton Matthies.
