*Obituary
Mary Venice Converse Cole, 91, died Friday, April 6, 1990 in San Antonio.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 9 in First Baptist Church of Wheeler. Rev. Robert Helsley, pastor, and the Rev. M.B. Smith, a retired Baptist minister, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.
Mrs. Cole, born in Briscoe, was a longtime resident of Wheeler. She married H.E. "Hub" Cole in 1916 at Miami. He died in 1983. They moved to Amarillo in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bodie Cole and Everett Cole.
Survivors include three sisters, June Cook and Carrie Rose Hughes, both of Pampa, and Helen Harmon of Kirtland, N.M.; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ralph Gillespie, Leon Handley, J.R. Harris, Glen Reid, Dale Watson, Rod Weatherly. Honorary pallbearers were J.L. Pugh, Dean Starkey and Jeff Stevenson.
The family requests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center of American Cancer Society.
