Church Services for Mozelle Gibbs-Hand, 85, of Paducah will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday February 2, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Paducah with Michael G. Crowley officiating and Bro. David Williams assisting. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Paducah under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday February 1, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mozelle passed from this life on January 30, 2014 in Grandview, Texas.
Mozelle was born on January 9, 1929 in Paducah to Jordan Tucker and Leatha McKnight Tucker. She attended school in Paducah where she graduated. She worked at the Paducah Nursing Home for fourteen years and later she went to work at the Jones and Renfrow Abstracters office in Paducah where she recorded documents.
She was a member of the Pythians Sisters, Ladies Auxillary Club for VFW and the Delwin Club. Mozelle was also a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church.
Nanny , as her grandchildren called her, is survived by her daughter: Leatha "Missy" Davis and husband Ken of Grandview.
Brother: Jim Tucker of Seymour
Two grandchildren: Jay Davis and wife Laura of Grandview, Texas and Joy Davis of Grandview, Texas
Two great-grandsons: Jhett and Kade Davis
And Her beloved cousin: Loetta Harrison Sossaman
She is also survived by her step daughter: Kim Hand Watson and husband Dewayne and two step granddaughters: Abby Watson and Hannah Alexander.
Mozelle is preceeded in death by her first husband, J.R. Gibbs, her second husband Billy Hand, her son Mark Gibbs, one sister: Chessie Carr, brothers: Roscoe Tucker, Mac Tucker, an infant brother, and her parents Jordan and Leatha Tucker.
