Dave Dukes, 89, died Tuesday, September 9, 1986.
Services were held at 3 p.m. September 11, in Allison School. Coy Potter, of Yukon, Okla. and T.A. Monk, of Gunter, Church of Christ ministers, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Dukes was born at Groesbeck. He was a farmer and had lived in Childress and Wheeler counties most of his life. He was married to Minnie Fay Hughes in 1916 at Jacksboro. She died in 1970. He was married to Pastine Brown in 1971. He was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Sulphur, Okla.; three sons, Jim of Abilene, Clyde of Allison and George of Mineral Wells; a daughter, Minnie Wells Vinson of Allison; three sisters, Mollie Dixon of Hedley, Josie Holmes of Bridgeport and Ollie Jane Steele of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Grandsons; Bevard Dukes, Bobby Dukes, Clyde Dukes, Jr., Fred Dukes, Garland Dukes, Jay Clyde Dukes, Jimmy Dukes, Johnny Dukes, Mark Dukes.
