Services for Alta Lemon, 88, of Slaton will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Englunds Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Lemon officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
She died Monday, July 19, 1999, in Slaton Care Center.
She was born April 28, 1911, in Lorenzo. She attended schools in the Lorenzo Independent School District. She married L.O. Lemon on Oct. 13, 1928, in Lorenzo. He died in 1985. She lived in Cimarron, N.M., from 1936 to 1942, when she moved to Slaton. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school until 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Lemon of Nashville, Tenn., Bob Lemon of Lake Kiowa, and Larry Lemon of Slaton; two daughters, Carol Scroggins of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Nelda Norris of Huntsville; a brother, T.J. Eaves of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
