Funeral services were held at the Wheeler Methodist church for Mrs. Lillie Amanda Caudell, a 50 year old resident of the Briscoe community. Mrs. Caudell passed away April 13, 1965 in Shattuck, Okla. having been seriously ill only one day.
Mrs. Caudell was born Lillie Amanda Wood on May 30, 1914 in twitty [sic], texas [sic] to James Daniel Wood and Nellie Dorman Wood. On October 26, 1935, she was married to Aubrey Caudell in Sayre, Okla. She has been a resident of Briscoe since 1946 having moved there from Kelton.
A member of Twitty Church of Christ Mrs. Caudell met death at 3:40 a.m. on April 13, 1965 at the age of 50 years 5 months 18 days.
Services were held in the Wheeler Methodist Church on Thursday April 15, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. D.C. Read of the First Methodist Church of Mobeetie officiated with Rev. L.C. Helm of the Liberty Methodist Church Liberty, Tex. assisting.
Pall Bearers were Clarence Zyback, Elbert Zyback, Oden Hudson, Leonrad Fulks, Leonard Hagerman and Levi Reid.
She is survived by her husband Aubery, two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Lou Hagerman of Spearman, and Mrs. Geraldine Haston of Plainview, three sons, Coy of Perryton, George of Reydon and Wayne of Spearman, 14 grandchildren, 4 brothers, Bill Wood of Texola, Okla. Charels [sic] Wood and Horace Wood of California and Lawrence Wood of Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Betty Jo Price of Plainview and Mrs. Mary Ellen Farley of Oklahoma City, Okla.
One daughter preceded her in death.
Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
