Loretta Faye Mauldin, 75, of Clyde, died Friday, July 21, 2017, in a Coleman Care Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Clyde with Toby Henson and Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will follow in the Belle Plains Cemetery in Baird. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Faye was born May 9, 1942, in Gorman, Texas to Noel and Vercie (Long) Simmons. She married Roland Mauldin on May 30, 1962, at Friendship Baptist Church in Abilene, just recently celebrating 55 years of marriage. Faye graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1961 and moved to Abilene with her parents. She worked at Lankford’s for several years. She retired when her first son was born in 1965 and was a stay at home mom until going to work at Bible Book Store in Abilene in 1981. She worked in sales and later as co-manager. She retired again in 1996 and enjoyed traveling with her husband and close friends. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and her church and family.
Faye is survived by her husband, Roland, of Denton Valley; two sons, Douglas and wife Tracie and Kenneth and wife Eva of Clyde; ten grandchildren, Leslie Faye of Denton, Taylor of Wylie, Laura of Wylie, Aaron of Clyde, Chandler of San Angelo, Tucker of Clyde and Morgan of Clyde, Caleb of Lubbock, Hannah of Abilene and Chloe of Clyde.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents.
After being diagnosed with dementia, Faye spent the last 28 months in Holiday Hill and Allen Memory Care Center in Coleman where she received the best, loving care anyone could imagine.
