Ruben Ernest May, 79, died Sunday, December 2, 1990.

Services were held Tuesday, December 4, 1990 at 2:30 p.m. in Allison United Methodist Church. Rev. Weldon Rives, pastor, and Rev. F.R. Johnson, pastor of Allison United Pentecostal Church officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mr. May, born in Cleburne, moved to Allison in 1978 from Pampa. He married Veda Jane Reid in 1928. She died in 1974. He was a member of International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa. He married Edna Begert in 1974 at Wheeler.

Survivors include a wife; a son, James May of Petrolia; two daughters, Betty Dyson of Pampa and Barbara Burgess of Quail; a stepson, Edwin Begert of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Linda Lieb of Stinnett; a brother, John May of Round Rock; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Vance Boydston, Bill Donaldson, Larry Elmore, Lee Hall, Kenneth Keys, Bob Zybach.

PAMPA - Services for Mrs. Veda Jane May, 64, who died Saturday at her home here, are pending with Duenkel Funeral Home.

Mrs. May, who was born in Stephenville, married Ruben May in 1928 in Wheeler. She moved with her husband to Pampa in 1948.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband; one son, James R. of Takoma [sic], Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Dyson of Skellytown and Mrs. Barbara Burgess of Yelm, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. May Clark of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Irene Rowe of Marble Falls and Mrs. Juanita Dougherty of Clovis, N.M.; two brothers, Grady Reid of 610 Woodward in Amarillo and Norman Reid of Marble Falls; 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

PAMPA - Funeral services were to be conducted at 3 p.m. today in the Calvary Baptist Church for Mrs. Veda Jane May, 64, who died Saturday at her home here.

The Rev. Mitchell Phillips, pastor, was to officiate. Burial was to be in Wheeler Cemetery, by Duenkel Funeral Home.

Mrs. May had resided in Pampa since 1948.

Survivors include her husband, a son, two daughters, three sisters, two brothers, 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
