Russell L. Miles, 75, died Thursday, April 18, 1991.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20 in First Baptist Church. Rev. M.B. Smith, retired Baptist minister of Pampa and Rev. Robert Helsley, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Miles was born in Titusville, PA. He married Ruth Holt in 1937 at Frederick, Okla. and they moved to Wheeler. He retired in 1977 from Ashland Chemical Co., after 22 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roland Miles of Amarillo and Mike Miles of Wheeler; a brother, Ted Miles of Electra; a sister, Matilda Albro of Iowa Park; three grandchildren and one great grandson.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Hill, Coyse Holt, Kenneth Holt, Preston Glazner, Buck Jones, Gerald Russell.

WHEELER — Anna Ruth Miles Kenney, 94, of Wheeler died Monday, July 20, 2015.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Curtis Johnson and the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Anna Ruth was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Ferris to Mr. Owen Holt and Allene Sanders Holt. She attended Corn Valley School. Anna Ruth Holt married Russell Miles on July 20, 1937, and was married to him until his death in 1991. She married Lonnie Kenney in 1993. They were married until his death in 2014.

Anna Ruth was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler for more than 75 years. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Home Demonstration Club. She loved sewing, gardening, all types of arts and crafts, collecting dolls and especially shopping. Mrs. Kenney enjoyed spending time with her family and friends the most.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Miles; her husband, Lonnie Kenney; four brothers, Lonnie, Coyse, Kenneth and Wayne Holt; and a sister, Vera Moore.

Survivors include two sons, Roland Miles and wife Shirley of Wheeler and Mike Miles and wife Sharon of Wheeler; a stepson, Dan Kenney and wife Vicki of Henderson; six grandchildren, Bobby Miles and wife Linda, Melissa Miles and wife Polk Green, Marcie Cook and husband Travis, Bryan Kenney and wife Renee, Michael Kenney and wife Mitchie and Jeremy Kenney and wife Monica; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Cook, Tyler Cook, Jonathan Miles, Morganna Cruz, Maisie Kenney, Zach Kenney, Mariah Kenney, Jaycob Kenney, Matthew Kenney and Katelynn Kenney; a great-great-grandchild, Gabriel Cruz; a sister, Glenda Burnett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 206, Wheeler, TX 79096; New Beginnings Baptist Church, 630 N. Bivens St., Amarillo, TX 79107; Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
