Funeral services for Mrs. E.R. Newberry were conducted from the Church of Christ on Thursday, April 25, with Rev. P.D. Fullingim, pastor of the First Baptist church, and V.M. Litton, minister of the Church of Christ, in charge.
Mrs. Newberry succumbed in the Shamrock Clinical Hospital on Tuesday, April 23, following a short illness.
Pallbearers were: T.L. Gunter, Harry Wofford, Chester Lewis, Floyd Pennington, Walter Adams and Glen Roberson. Flower attendants were: Mrs. T.L. Gunter, Mrs. Holt Green, Mrs. Buford Conwell, Mrs. Charlie Mitchell, Mrs. Carl Levitt and Mrs. G.D. Ledbetter.
Interment was in the Wheeler cemetery with Hunt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lillian Dean Rosser was born March 26, 1914, at Holland, Texas. On April 17, 1935, she was married to E.R. Newberry, who along with three sons, Jerry, Charles and Glen Dean, survive her.
Other survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Rosser of Allison, a sister, Mrs. Elsie Cooper of Huntington Park, Calif., and near relatives, Clay Cooper and Billie B. and Chester Roy Moore.
Mrs. Newberry had been a member of the Church of Christ since August 8, 1932.
Out-of-town relatives here to attend the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Gholston of Goodlett, Texas; Mrs. Tom McQuerry of Kirkland, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Newberry and sons, Paul and Irvin of Floydada, Texas; W.I. Newberry and son, W.C. of Cimarron, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Harve Conger, Olustie, Okla.; and Tom Rosser, Mineral Wells, Texas.
