WHEELER - Thomas Alexander Schaffer, 71, died yesterday.

Services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Campbell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Schaffer was born in Gray County and married Mary Farris in 1928. He farmed in Gray County for 40 years, until he retired and moved to Wheeler in 1968. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Miss Bertie Louise Schaffer of the home, Mrs. Doris Boody of New York and Mrs. Barbara Clark of Shamrock; three sons, Charles of California, Sam of Wheeler and John of Spearman; one brother, Claude of Groom; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Walker and Mrs. Henry Dunaway, both of Pampa, and 16 grandchildren.

WHEELER - Mary E. Schaffer, 84, died Wednesday, April 22, 1992.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Denton, pastor of 11th Street Baptist Church of Shamrock, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schaffer, born in what is now Oklahoma, lived with her family in Gray County where her husband farmed for 40 years before moving to Wheeler in 1968. She moved to Wellington eight years ago. She married Thomas A. Schaffer in 1928 at Wheeler. He died in 1976. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Schaffer of Terra Bella, Calif., Sam Schaffer of Wellington and John Schaffer of Wheeler; two daughters, Doris Boody of Wichita, Kan., and Barbara Clark of Shamrock; two brothers, Boyice Farris and Earl Farris, both of Wheeler; two sisters, Ruth Strout of San Diego and Cordie Jones of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
