WHEELER - Georgie Gaye Porter Snyder, 69, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Bethesda, Md.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Wheeler with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Snyder was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Wheeler, to Mildred and George W. Porter, a pioneer Wheeler County ranching family. She married William B. Snyder. She was a longtime resident of Chevy Chase, Md.
Survivors include her husband; a son, William B. Snyder II of Rockville, Md.; a daughter, Melissa A. Snyder of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, JoAnn Taylor of Lubbock; an uncle, Dennis Porter of Wheeler; a niece, Georgann Burrell of Amarillo; and three cousins, Richard Porter of Wheeler, Ruth Smith of Houston and Mrs. David Crouch of Conroe.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1199, Wheeler, TX 79096.
