Bettie Taylor Rites Read Thurs.

Bettie Womack Taylor, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 1970. Length of illness was one month.

Mrs. Taylor was born November 12, 1888, in Wise County. Her father's name was Frank Womack and her mother was the former Mattie Anderson. She married Willis Taylor August 3, 1913 in Wheeler.

Mrs. Taylor lived in Wheeler County since November 11, 1907. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are 1 daughter, Mrs. Wanda Hugg of Clayton, New Mexico, 4 sisters, Miss Hattie Womack of Wheeler, Mrs. Wanda Alexander of Wheeler, Mrs. Manda Swarthout of Denver, City, [sic] Texas, Mrs. Leetie Watts of Amarillo, Texas, 1 brother, Leslie Womack of Wheeler, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Preceded in death by her husband in 1916.

Funeral services were in the First United Methodist Church, Thursday, June 4, 1970 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Wilbur Gaede officiated.

Burial services were in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright funeral Home.

Pall bearers were Ben Trout, J.C. Moore, Jr., Terrell Gunter, Kenneth Alexander, Don Alexander and Max Alexander. Music was 'Abide With Me' and 'Hold My Hand'.

WHEELER (Staff) - Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie Taylor, 81, were held today in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Wilbur Gaede, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery directed by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Taylor died Wednesday in Parkview Hospital in Wheeler.

A native of Wise County, she had lived in Wheeler County since 1907. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Her husband died in 1916.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Hugg, Clayton, N.M.; four sisters, Miss Hattie Womack and Mrs. Wanda Alexander, both of Wheeler, Mrs. Manda Swarthout of Denver City; and Mrs. Leetie Watts, Amarillo; a brother, Leslie Womack of Wheeler, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
