McAllen - Delia Garza Gomez, was born in Santa Rita Ranch, Puerto Rico, TX on April 13, 1927 to Felipe and Eulalia Garza.
She entered eternal peace on November 26. 2018 with our Lord to rejoin the love of her life, Rogelio, her family members and friends.
Delia grew up in northern Hidalgo County and shared beautiful stories of faith and her fondness of family gatherings, horse back riding and dances. Her daughters were blessed to be guided by a loving, generous, God fearing mother-who enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and sewing. Her grandchildren will always cherish her unconditional love and memories of the time they shared with her. She will be missed by her loved ones, they will be consoled by the fact that she is now at peace with her creator.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Diana Medina (Joe) of McAllen, TX Teresa Gonzalez (Carlos) of Fort Worth, TX and Inez Tamez (Daniel) of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Claudia Bevil (Jake), Giselle Medina, Christopher, Natalie, Bethanie, and Corrine Gonzalez, Danny and Jacob Rogelio Tamez, and 1 niece; Roselee Lucio (Rene).
Visitation will be held at Virgil Wilson Mortuary Thursday November 29, 2018 from 3-9 pm and a 7 pm rosary. Funeral services will be Friday November 30, 2018 at 11 am at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Alton, TX with an interment to follow at Santa Rita Cemetery in Puerto Rico, TX.
