Funeral Mass for Ramona Cantu Villalva, age 88 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Monday, December 6 at St. James Catholic Church from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Villalva was born in Nava, Mexico to Maria Garza and Lino Cantu on July 27, 1933. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Villalva was very feisty and a go-getter. She enjoyed entertaining, sewing, crocheting and crafts. She always wanted to look her very best. She dearly loved her family, raising her daughters to be strong and independent. Everyone that knew her received a blessing from her. She was a lifelong member of the Guadalupanas.
Ramona Villalva passed away December 2, 2021 at Shinnery Oaks Nursing Home in Denver City, Texas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gabriel H. Martinez and her sister, Rosa Ellia Ruiz. She is survived by her husband, Julio Villalva; three daughters, Juanita Guzman and husband Lupe, and Leticia Perez, both of Seminole, and Mary Helen Hernandez and husband, Felipe of Taylor, Texas; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Lopez and husband, Domingo of Odessa; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
