*Obituary
Twyla Faye Clark Lafayette - Twyla Faye Clark of Lafayette, Louisiana, returned home to our Heavenly Father on December 1, 2020 and was reunited once again with her daddy, Virnon Petty.
Twyla was born August 8, 1958, the third of four children to Virnon and Sara Petty in Dimmitt, Texas. She lived her early years in Seminole, Texas, where she graduated high school. Upon graduation, she moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she worked as a bank teller and vault manager for First National Bank. Soon after, she relocated to Brownfield, Texas, and began a long career at The Brownfield News. It was here she met her husband of 34 years, Dean Clark. After relocating to Lafayette, Louisiana, Twyla spent the last 15 years as an accounting clerk for BJ/Baker Hughes Oilfield Services, retiring in 2019. At the time of her passing, Twyla was a member of Trinity Bible Church where she found great joy participating in Sunday services and spending time with her church sisters at Wednesday morning bible study.
Twyla is survived by her loving husband, Dean Clark; daughters, Kristyn Clark of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Denee Nelson (Lanier) of Kerrville, Texas; a son, Kristopher Clark (Cori) of Roy, Washington; and her grandchildren, Layla Clark and True Nelson. She is also survived by her mother, Sara Petty of Lubbock, Texas; siblings, Virnell Locker (Lan) of Graham, Texas, Virnette Garrison of Lubbock, Texas, and Malcom Petty (Patti ) of Granbury, Texas; her mother-in-law, Laura "Honey" Clark; her fater-in-law, Lonnie "Chick" Clark (Karla); her sisters-in-law Kim White (Robert) and Till Tatum (Mac); brother-in-law, Clay Clark. A niece, numerous nephews and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Virnon Petty, and grandparents Lois and Floss (Fluff) Baldwin. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, generosity toward others, quick wit, contagious laugh, her fantastic cooking, and her love of cross-stitch. Over the years, she gifted family and close friends with her treasured works of art. The hours spent and attention to detail made each piece a family heirloom. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no funeral proceedings at this time. We are anticipating a Celebration of Twyla's Life early next year when we can gather again safely with family and friends. Donations in memory of Twyla Clark can be made to any one of the following organizations that were near and dear to her heart: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Hope for Kidz RMI Ministry, and Miles Perret Cancer Services.
